Graphic Designers Most people are confused by the term graphic designer. A lot of the time I get asked whether I only design posters or draw. While we do all these things, being a graphic designer means you do many different things. We create different types of design for a range of industries, it gets difficult to describe exactly what the job of a graphic designer is.  A Graphic Designer is a creative person who assembles type, images, and graphics to carry out a specific function. It is their job to communicate a specific message and solve problems with visual answers through research and testing. This can look like a poster, a social media campaign, a logo, a website, a book cover, or anything visual. I was born and raised in the Philippines and moved to the US for college. I've attended a small international school all my life, so I am happy to have moved to a larger school across the world. After college, I am going to work in the US at a large advertising or brand agency working with high-profile clients. I plan on getting there by scoring an internship this summer, working really hard at it, and (hopefully) receiving a return offer for a full-time position.  My mom was also born in the Philippines but is of Spanish descent, and my dad is from the US but is half Filipino and half Russian. I am like my dad in that I look more like him, being as extroverted as him, have a similar work ethic, and am more creative. I am similar to my mom in my temperament.
